Are your students struggling with cyberbullying too? Our school had a major issue with bullying on the class chat. I created a homeroom/health lesson to help students understand digital citizenship, online safety, and how to stand up to bullying when things cross the line. If your school is facing similar challenges, this resource is going to be a great fit.
This isn't just a cyberbullying lecture. It's a comprehensive, discussion-based lesson that explores the different forms of online bullying teens face today, including deepfakes, trolling, cyberstalking, and more.
But the real power of this lesson is in the conversation it sparks. Students reflect on why the internet can be a breeding ground for cruelty, what "virtual masking" is, and how to get help if they or someone they know are being harassed. There's also a roleplay activity where students practice being a positive bystander and how to ask a trusted adult for help.
The most impactful part?
The Cyberbullying Gallery Walk. Students read 12 real (editable) stories of teens who experienced different types of cyberbullying and have the option to add their own experiences (anonymous). It’s a powerful, emotional activity that leads to meaningful discussion and empathy.
