First aid and emergency response basics are too important to leave without proper assessment. But are a few multiple-choice questions enough? NOPE! That’s why I created a two-part exam for my first aid unit, based on the American Red Cross guidelines.
Start with a pre-assessment before the unit even begins to see what teens already know and to measure their confidence with first aid situations. After your unit, give the 70-question self-grading Google Forms exam that tests their knowledge of wound care order and first aid essentials. Then, hold an in-person simulation assessment where teens are given an emergency scenario and must show how to respond. A detailed grading rubric makes this process much easier for you.
Point Breakdown: 20% simulation, 80% multiple choice/short answer. 100 Points total.
