Health teachers, it’s that exciting time of year, the first week of school, and you want to start health class off right with a holistic view of wellness. It’s not just physical health we need to talk about; it’s all the dimensions that make up a healthy and fulfilling life. That’s where the Wellness Wheel comes in.
Students will work in groups to analyze one part of the Wellness Wheel and come up with specific actions that support that dimension of health. As a class, you’ll piece together the wheel to create a full picture of wellness. Then, students will build their own wellness wheel and reflect on the areas of their life they’re growing in and identify ways they can improve.
It’s a fun, interactive way to get students thinking, talking, and reflecting on their own well-being.Included:
- NHES-aligned lesson plan
- Editable Google Slides to guide the lesson
- Double-sided worksheet
- 8 pieces of the Wellness Wheel cutouts
This activity works great for both middle and high school health classes.
