Parent (POTA) Interview on First Aid & Emergency Response Family Plan | Health

We can teach first aid and emergency response in health class all we want, but if it’s not also discussed at home, there will still be some huge gaps. For example:

  • What health conditions run in our family that we should be aware of, and how can we prepare for them if an incident arises?
  • Where is our first aid kit, and is it fully stocked and up to date?
  • Are our smoke detectors clear and working with fresh batteries?
  • Where should we meet if there’s a fire in the house?
  • What’s our family safe word?

With this POTA (Parent or Other Trusted Adult) interview, teens will work with their families to create a comprehensive emergency plan. It’s helpful homework to send home during your first aid unit, and parents will be grateful for the chance to review everything with their teens.

What’s included:

  • 3-page editable Google Doc
    • First aid kit activity
    • Family illness/conditions discussion
    • First aid roleplay
    • Family plan and safe word
